PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wooden fence construction for earth retaining, for which the work can be carried out easily and the appearance can be harmonized with neighboring natural environment, and the fence returns to nature after letting alone without destroying environment. SOLUTION: Wooden longitudinal members 2B and lateral members 2A are stacked alternately and combined to a square shape, thereby forming a shroud frame 1. To an intersecting portion of the shroud frame 1, and anchor bolt 3 is inserted from upper portion to the lower portion. The lower portion of the anchor bolt 3 is projected out from the bottom of the shroud frame 1. A plurality of the sets of the shroud frames 1 are arranged along the face of slope 5, in such a manner that the front portion of the shroud frame 1 at the upper level is overlapped on the shroud frame 1 at the lower level, thereby forming a stair shape. The bottom of the anchor bolt 3 of the shroud frame 1 at the lowest level is fixed to earth in a flat land below the face of slope 5. The lower portion of the anchor bolt 3A at the front portion of an upper shroud frame 1, except the shroud frame 1 at the lowest level, is fixed to the shroud frame 1 at the lower level, and the lower portion of an anchor bolt 3B at the rear portion is fixed to the face of slope 5. Inside of the shroud frame 1 is filled up with a sediment 7.
