The invention concerns the use of at least a compound selected among retinoid-type molecules for preparing a composition for preventive or curative treatment of bacterial colonisation, deterioration in pathological conditions caused by said colonisation and secondary skin infections induced by said bacteria and more particularly by the Staphylococcus aureus . The invention also con cerns the use of at least a compound selected among retinoid-type molecules in a skin cleansing composition, and a cosmetic treatment method for cleaning the skin or correcting its smell by applying said composition on the skin.
