TREATMENT OF TEXTILE PRODUCT FOR IMPARTING WATER AND OIL REPELLENCY

A textile product having such durability that it retains sufficient water and oil repellency and unsusceptibility to fouling before and after cleaning is obtained by a process for producing a treated textile product which comprises (1) the step of preparing a treating fluid comprising a water-and-oil repellant, (2) the step of adjusting the pH of the treating fluid to 7 or lower, (3) the step of applying the treating fluid to a textile product, (4) the step of steam-heating the textile product, and (5) the step of water-washing the resultant textile product and dehydrating it, wherein the water-and-oil repellant comprises a combination of (A) a fluoropolymer having structural units derived from vinyl chloride and/or vinylidene chloride with (B) a fluoropolymer containing no structural units derived from vinyl chloride and/or vinylidene chloride.
