A test probe (10) in a main body (12) is symmetrically formed with a sensor (11) arranged in a central longitudinal recess on the top side of probe to detect the temperature of a selected portion of an object. A stabilization temperature is estimated based on the temperature data registered by the sensor to a processor. A compensation coefficient is included in a prediction mode processed in the processor.
