<p>A system for the measurement of pressure and flow within a blood vessel (1) is disclosed. It comprises at least one sensor element (2) providing signals corresponding to the instantaneous pressure and temperature, said sensor element (2) being an integral part of a guide wire (3). The guide wire is insertable into the lumen of at least one catheter (4). The catheter (4) is in its turn insertable into said blood vessel (1). There is provided fluid injection means (21) for delivering a controllable fluid volume flow into said blood vessel (1) via said catheter (4). A means (26) for controlling or measuring the temperature of said fluid (22) is also provided. There is also at least one electronic signal analyzer (31), the input signals of which correspond to instantaneous pressure and temperature at said integrated sensor (2), and providing at least one signal corresponding to the flow in said blood vessel (1).</p> |
