PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method of driving the panel are provided which uses subsidiary discharge according to the first and second common sustain electrode lines that are separately driven to generate stable address discharge even with a shorter address pulse, enabling high-speed driving without adding subsidiary electrode lines. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel includes discharge cells displaying images according to discharge, and a plurality of scanning lines. The panel further has scanning/sustain electrode lines(Y1,Y2,Y3,Y4) each of which arranged corresponding to each scanning line, and address electrode lines(Xi,Xi+1) intersecting the scanning/sustain electrode lines. The panel also has the first and second common sustain electrode lines(Z1,Z2) which are arranged adjacent to each other for two scanning lines and generate subsidiary discharge to provide it to the two scanning lines. |
