摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cubic boron nitride-based sintered material excellent in durability and used as the material of a cutting tool with which high quality cast iron represented by at least niresist cast iron or austemper cast iron can be cut at a high speed and which exhibits a long lifetime and to provide a method of producing the same. SOLUTION: The cubic boron nitride-based sintered material is obtained by mixing a binder powder containing each power 21 to 24 of TiCN, Si3N4, Al2O3 and CrxN (x=1 to 2.7) and the powder 10 of the cubic boron nitride to obtain mixed powder and then sintering the mixed powder. The blending ratio of the mixed powder is such that the amount of the cubic boron nitride is 30 to 90% by volume and the total amount of the binding powders is 10 to 70% by volume. Further, the preferable blending ratio of each powder constituting the binding powder is 1 to 25% by volume when the total volume of the mixed powder is assumed to be 100%.
