PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent separation of a rubber chafer in an area corresponding to a bead heal especially against occurrence of shear deformation in the rubber chafer because of assembly of a tire to a rim and the like. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic radial tire with a compression rate of 80% or less, the JIS A-hardness of the rubber chafer 6 is set to be 73 degree or more while that of coating rubber in each of a radial carcass 3 and cord reinforcing layers 4, 5 is set to be 65 degree or more in a bead part 1 provided with a bead core 2, the radial carcass 3, the rubber chafer 6, and the cord reinforcing layers 4, 5 arranged adjacently to the radial carcass 3, and a compression ratio represented by a bead base fastening marginδ/a total thickness T-(d1+d2) of a deformable member is set to be 0.3 or more in the inner circumference side part beyond the bead core 2 in the tire assembling time to the rim. In this pneumatic radial tire, a deformation absorbing rubber layer 8 is arranged between the cord reinforcing layer 5 and the rubber chafer 6 in the area corresponding to the bead heal 7, and the hardness of the deformation absorbing rubber layer 8 is set to be smaller than that of the rubber chafer 6 and larger than that of the coating rubber.
