PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate machining within a fixing device for a deformed workpiece used for machining a thin-walled and curved cutting stock, by fixing an irregularly and complexly shaped workpiece without special supports and the like. SOLUTION: A workpiece is supported in position inside a tank of a workpiece fixing part 2 by means of vertical support portions 7 and horizontal support portions 8. A fluidized fixing material 9 such as a water-absorptive polymer with a sufficient amount of water absorption is poured into the tank, where it is brought at or below the melting point and is solidified to fix the cutting stock. After machined into a given shape by a machine tool, the workpiece is removed with the fixing material heated and returned to fluidized water, which can produce an irregularly and complexly shaped workpiece in a simple, short-time and economical fashion.
