PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lateral load from being transmitted to an impact energy absorbing device. SOLUTION: A lateral load absorbing means 1 capable of preventing a lateral load from being transmitted to an impact energy absorbing device 3 by absorbing a lateral load applied to a reinforcement 21 is provided between the impact energy absorbing device 3 and the reinforcement 21. The means 1 is installed at the installation part 211 of the reinforcement 21, and comprises bolt mounting holes 12 allowing tightening bolts 8 to be inserted therein so as to connect the reinforcement 21 to the tip part 31 of the impact energy absorbing device 3 and a deforming allowable part 11 formed of a sickle-shaped cut-out part provided around the bolt mounting holes 12.
