PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a saponified material of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer providing a molded product excellent in surface smoothness, melting extrusion stability, drawdown resistance, interlayer adhesion and gas barrier properties. SOLUTION: This saponified material of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer comprises 0.1-3,000 ppm of a compound having <=1,000 molecular weight and a conjugated double bond and has 0.0005-1 mol% content ratio of an alkoxyl group, 5-60 mol% content ratio of ethylene and >=85 mol% degree of saponification.
