PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a possibility of a careless insertion of hand by a child and being pressed and injured by making the manual opening of the rid of the crushing device impossible after completing a pressing and crushing work is completed in a container crushing device where an empty can is mounted on a case mounting table and a pressing and crushing work is performed with a lever. SOLUTION: The container crushing device is provided with a mounting table 3 for a container 2 inside a case 1, a pressing body 4 so arranged as to be movable back and forth which presses and crushes the container 2 by pressing it against the mounting table 3, a hole H formed on the case 1, through which hole the container 2 is thrown onto the mounting table 3, and a rid 20 which opens and closes the hole H. The container crushing device is characterized by the fact that a stopper member 13 is arranged so that the advancing motion of the pressing body 4 is controlled by being linked with the opening motion of the rid 20 when the rid 20 is opened.
