PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply, easily and selectively control plant diseases. SOLUTION: The plant diseases caused by microorganisms belonging to Phytophthora are controlled by applying a disease controlling agent comprising an organic acid capable of being produced by Bacillus bacteria or a salt of the organic acid to plants or soil.
