PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate-shaped material holder securely retaining a plate- shaped material, from which the plate-shaped material can be easily taken out and easily thrown away. SOLUTION: The plate-shaped material holder retaining the plate-shaped material is provided with a seat section formed of a paper material and an engaging section 30. The seat section is provided with a core material 22 and a skin material 21 bonded on the core material 22. A fold 31 is formed on the engaging section 30, and a section forming the end of the fold 31 of the engaging section 30 is formed into a folding section 32. Sections other than the folding section 32 of the engaging section 30 are bonded on the surface of the skin material 21. The engaging section 30 is formed into a stopper for the plate-shaped material stored in the seat section. A notch 24 is formed on a position corresponding to the position of the fold 31 of the skin material 21 of the seat section. The bonding strength between the engaging section 30 and the skin material 21 is stronger than the bonding strength between the skin material 21 and the core material 22.
