PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption at the time of waiting by supplying a control section only with a voltage required for waiting power when the operation is stopped thereby making zero the loss at a switching power supply section. SOLUTION: The controller for air conditioner comprises a power supply control section 7 for controlling the output voltage from a rectifying circuit 2 variably between an AC power supply 1 and the rectifying circuit 2, means 8 for detecting a smoothed voltage, a voltage switching means 9 for selecting power supply to a control section 5 between a switching power supply section 4 and a bypath 4a provided in parallel therewith, and means 10 for monitoring the operating state of an air conditioner, wherein the voltage switching means 9 switches power supply to the switching power supply section 4 side at the time of normal operation of the air conditioner and to the bypath 4a side at the time of stopping operation. |
