SEISMIC CONTROL STRUCTURE OF BUILDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic control structure capable of being applied to any of a beam and column structure and a bearing wall panel structure and dispensing with a rubber vibration absorbing material having short service life. SOLUTION: A support block 20 provided between a foundation structure and a main structure when the main structure is put on the foundation structure is constituted into a box composed of a deformation part 30, a support part 23, and an upper plate 24 to deform the deformation part 30 when it receives a large horizontal force due to earthquake. An increase of a horizontal force (horizontal reaction force) acting on the main structure is settled when the deformation part starts its plastic deformation. Consequently, the main structure is deformed only in an elastic region irrespective of magnitude of earthquake to eliminate the possibilities leading to the plastic deformation and destruction.
