PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome disadvantages in the conventional reflective display material and to provide a lower-cost high-quality tough reflective display material, having superior whiteness and saturation. SOLUTION: This material for a photographic element including at least one photosensitive layer and a base material including upper and lower biaxially oriented polymer sheets isolated by a paper sheet. The base material has a thickness exceeding 254μm, 325 mN or higher rigidity in any direction, 0.45μm or smaller upper surface roughness at 0.30-6.35 mm spatial frequency and lower than 15% transmittance.
