PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-fixing element which enhances the light fastness of a dye formed by a diffusion transfer system and reduces stain. SOLUTION: The dye-fixing element is used in a color image-forming method in which a photosensitive element with a photosensitive layer, containing at least photosensitive silver halide and a binder is developed, an image-forming dye or its precursor is released or formed in parallel or with silver development by the development and it is diffused or diffusion-transferred to form an image in the dye-fixing element. The dye fixing element has a base and a dye fixing layer on the base and the base has an L* value of 91 or larger, 90% or higher opacity, an apparent specific gravity of 0.85-1.25, an oxygen permeability of 50 ml or lower oxygen per (24 hr.m2.atm) and a steam permeability of 20 g or lower water per (24 hr.m2).
