PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide switching method and system with a many-to-one redundant configuration of an optical subscriber line terminating part of an optical burst signal multiple transmission system with a passive double star configuration. SOLUTION: This system is provided with active optical subscriber line terminating parts LT#1 to #n respectively housing a plurality of subscriber side devices NT through star couplers SC#1 to #n and a single reserve optical subscriber line terminating part LT#R connected to each of the SCs. Normality between each SC and the LT#R connected by a distance measurement frame from the NT due to the distance measurement of active LT#1 to #n, and when the state between an SC and the connected LT#R is normal in the case of detecting a fault between any active optical subscriber line terminating part LT#m and the SC, switching is performed to the LT#R and data transmission is started and made to continue by a pointer value obtained by the distance measurement of LT#m. |
