PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent turbulence in an unfixed toner image due to dropping of a rear end part of a recording medium by decreasing the downward load to the recording medium by a charge removing means without raising the cost. SOLUTION: Relating to the device, the charge removing means 51 is provided on the downstream side from a transfer roll 14 in a carrying direction of transfer paper so as to be freely rotated around a rotating shaft 51b. The part of the charge removing means 51 coming into contact with the transfer paper 17a is made to be a conductive brush 51a and the charge of the transfer paper 17a that is passed through the transfer roll 14 is removed. When a leading tip of the transfer paper 17a is abutted on the charge removing brush 51a, a charge removing member 51 is pushed up. Force to push up the destaticizing member 51 by the transfer paper 17a is made greater than the dead load of the destaticizing member 51 by a sucking fan 41. The destaticizing member 51 is maintained in a pushed up state until a rear end of the transfer paper 17a is passed through the destaticizing member 51 and no great force downward is imparted to the rear end of the transfer paper 17a that is passed through the transfer roll 14.
