IMAGE DISPLAY MEDIUM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display medium which makes image display by holding microcapsules for display including coloring balls having surfaces composed of >=2 kinds of regions varying in optical characteristics and electrostatic charge characteristics and an insulative liquid on a base and rotating the coloring balls by controlling the electric fields to be applied to the coloring balls and has flexible paper-like characteristics. SOLUTION: The microcapsules formed by coating the coloring balls and the insulative liquid with shells consisting of the resins obtained by an interfacial polymerization method are used. The particle size of the microcapsules is suitably 1.0 to 2.0 times the particle size of the coloring balls.
