The invention concerns a leather treatment method comprising a step which consists in depositing (4, 16) at least a layer of a finish product including pigments and/or colouring agents, on at least one face of said leather when the latter is in dry state, over all or at least part of said face. The invention is characterised in that it consists in soaking in a bath (5, 17) comprising at least a dyeing product, said leather after depositing thereon said finish product. The invention also concerns the resulting leather.
