Pyrimidines and triazines with at least two optionally substituted organyloxycarbonylamino-carbonylamino groups and/or organylaminocarbonylamino-carbonylamino groups and/or the thiocarbonyl analogues of these groups. Pyrimidines and triazines containing at least two groups of formula -NH-C(X)-NH-C(X)-YR (I). X = O or S; Y = -O-, -S- or -NH-; R = an optionally substituted monovalent organic residue. Independent claims are also included for: (a) compositions which are hardened by the action of heat or by heat and actinic radiation, containing these compounds as crosslinkers; (b) coatings, adhesive layers and seals on or in optionally primed substrates, made from materials containing these compositions; (c) optionally primed substrates with coatings, adhesive layers and/or seals as in (b).
