ALTERNATING CURRENT GENERATOR

PURPOSE: To obtain a high-output and high-reliability AC generator manufacturable with high productivity, by forming a stator coil of each phase by the use of a plurality of windings formed by winding a wire. CONSTITUTION: A stator 16 is formed by connecting first to fourth windings 31-34 in series. The first to fourth windings 31-34 are formed by wave-winding one element wire 30 respectively so as to be internal layers and external layers in the depthwise direction of slots, inside the slots 15a alternately at every six slots. Element wires 30 are folded back on each end surface of a stator core 15, and the folded parts of the element wires 30 having insulating coats are arranged side by side in the circumferential direction and form groups of coil ends.
