PURPOSE: To solve such a problem that it is difficult for a conventional hydrolyzable absorbent article to combine mutually conflicting functions of the shape- retaining force and hydrolyzable property of each layer. CONSTITUTION: This hydrolyzable absorbent article 1 comprises a hydrolyzable back layer 12, a hydrolyzable surface layer 10 and a hydrolyzable absorbing layer 11 held between the back layer 12 and the surface layer 10. In a outer periphery region 1b in a present range from the peripheral edge 1e, the absorbent article 1 is heat sealed via a water-soluble PVA film with no absorbing layer 11 laid therebetween. As a result, it has higher bonding strength in the outer periphery region 1b and higher shape-retaining force during wearing. In disposal, layers can be peeled by separating the surface layer 10 from the back layer 12.
