PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment device in which both a display section and an operation section are placed in such a way that they are raised obliquely to a horizontal plane so as to face toward the front side of the device and therefore the display of the state of treatment can easily be viewed by an operator. SOLUTION: The treatment process using this treatment device comprises introducing garbage into a garbage treatment vessel 1 packed with a garbage treating material to subject the introduced garbage to decomposition treatment. In the treatment device, both an operation control section 2 for performing the treatment operation and a display section 3 for displaying the state of the treatment are placed in such a way that they are raised obliquely to a horizontal plane so as to face toward the front side of the device.
