SOLUTION: Relating to a plate working machine of a press brake PB shearing, etc., a screw bar 3 of a desired length is mounted to a butting part 1 elevating for a butt main body 2 of a butt positioning device B/G consisting of a butt part 1 freely advancing/retreating and the butt main body 2, a bevel gear 1 is arranged to the lower end of the screw bar 3, a screw bar 5 of a desired length is mounted by piercing/extending a lower table T1 in the back/forth direction, a bevel gear 2 is arranged to the tip part of the screw bar 5, when the butting part is moved to reach a prescribed advancing end position of the butt positioning device B/G, by engaging the bevel gears 1, 2 and driving the screw bar 5, the butting part 1 is freely positioned in the up/down positions by an up/down height adjusting mechanism Kh of the butting part 1.
