发明名称 Image reading method and apparatus
摘要 There is provided an image reading method and apparatus which, even when the position where slit light is irradiated changes due to vibration during image reading, can prevent variation of the amount of transmitted light or reflected light within a region read by a solid-state image pickup device (i.e., a read range). A reflector having a half-split structure (two parts) is disposed and each first focal point of the two parts of reflector is located at the same position (i.e., the position where a halogen lamp is disposed). Respective second focal points of the two parts of reflector are located at different positions apart from the center of an illumination region in opposite directions. The distribution of the amount of light in this case is such that a range in which the amount of light becomes substantially uniform comes to about one and a half the read width of a CCD line sensor and the ratio of the minimum amount of light in this width becomes about 80% of the maximum amount of light. Since the two parts of reflector have different second focal points, occurrence of a reading error caused by vibration is restrained.
