PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new useful apparatus for removing the CO in a hydrogen- rich reformed gas by effective oxidation. SOLUTION: This apparatus for removing the CO in a reformed gas by oxidation is constructed by dividing the CO-oxidation reactor for removing the CO in the hydrogen-rich reformed gas into two portions of the first CO- oxidation unit and the second CO-oxidation unit, connecting them in series and placing a mixer for mixing an oxidizer gas into the reformed gas at the upstream side of each CO-oxidation unit. The amount of introduction of the oxidizer gas fed to the first CO-oxidation unit is larger than that fed to the second CO-oxidation unit, and at the same time when the concentration of CO is high at the entrance of the first CO-oxidation unit, the amount of the oxidizer gas fed to the first CO-oxidation unit is large, and when the concentration of CO is low at the entrance of the first CO-oxidation unit, the amount of the oxidizer gas fed to the first CO-oxidation unit is small. |
