The invention relates to a method and a device for releasing metallic workpieces from adhering or clamped chips or the like consisting of hard material. The aim of the invention is to release the workpieces from said material in an efficient manner and at short notice. The workpiece (1) to be treated is fixed to an abutment (4) in a vibration-free manner and a sonotrode (8) of an ultrasound device (5) is then directly mounted on the workpiece (1) to be treated or the like. Said chip is impinged upon with an elastomechanic oscillation until destruction thereof, whereby said oscillation exceeds the limit of audibility. |
