<p>A wheel speed sensor assembly improves the performance and also simplifies manufacturing. It includes a one-piece pole and magnetic flux concentrator having first, second, and third regions of distinct diameters. Overmolded components at opposite ends of the pole/concentrator provide a cavity for the winding that eliminates the conventional use of a bobbin. A magnet is received over the pole between the first end and the intermediate region so that the magnet is more closely disposed adjacent the pole end of the sensor assembly. A molded end cap is provided at the opposite end of the assembly and one cap design can be easily substituted for another as desired.</p> |
