<p>A tracking-error detection apparatus in which one of combinations of the outputs of photodetectors (1a - 1d) is selected over by selectors (11a, 11b) and fed to a phase-error detection circuit (13) at the succeeding stage, and the output of the phase-error detection circuit (13) is inputted to a low-pass filter (14) at the succeeding stage of the phase-error detection circuit (13). In such a tracking-error detection apparatus, a phase-error detection means for detecting a tracking error signal and a low-pass means can be also used as a phase-error detection means for detecting an offset signal and a low-pass means respectively. Therefor a tracking-error signal and an offset signal are detected by using a phase-error detection means and a shared low-pass means in a time-division way. Therefore, size reduction and power consumption reduction of the circuit for controlling the tracking of an optical pickup of an optical recording/reproducing apparatus can be realized.</p> |
