PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character inspecting device for package film for food or the like, which can be easily applied to a packaging machine such as an existent longitudinal pillow filling packaging machine, surely picks up the image of characters printed on a film in the moving state at a speed of >=300 mm/sec, processing the image, collates the image with registered master characters and can detect a printing defect. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an eyemark sensor 11 for camera trigger for detecting an eyemark printed on the package film, a printer 12 for printing a character, a camera 14 with illuminator 13 for picking up the image of printed characters, and an image processing system for collating the picked-up image of characters with the previously registered master characters, the detecting signal of the eyemark outputted from the eyemark sensor for camera trigger is directly inputted to the camera trigger of an image processing board and at the moment, when the characters printed on the package film pass the image pickup enable position of the camera, the image is picked up by operating the camera trigger. |
