PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of a surge voltage caused by a discharge accumulated energy in a filter reactor, by a constitution simple and easy to design and to manufacture without providing a snubber circuit. SOLUTION: This converter comprises a high frequency inverter 2 of high frequency link converting a DC power source 1 into a high frequency output, a high frequency transformer 3 connecting the primary to the inverter 2, a diode rectifier circuit 5 provided in the secondary of this transformer 3 to supply a DC output to a load 7 through filter reactor 6, and a bypass diode 11 connected in reverse parallel to the reactor 6 reversely biased by the DC output of this rectifying circuit 5 formed with a recirculating current path of the reactor 6.
