摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and grasp the relative positional relation between a transmitter and a receiver of an infrared ray remote controller. SOLUTION: The remote control receiver is provided with two or more light receiving means that receive an infrared ray modulation pulse signal. Each light receiving means has a light receiving face consisting of light receiving cells arranged in a form of an M×N two-dimensional matrix of the cells and outputs a detection signal in response to the received light intensity to identify the light receiving position of the modulated pulse signal on the light receiving face. A demodulation means receives the detection signal from the light receiving means to demodulate the modulation pulse signal. A position detection means receives the light receiving position of the modulation pulse by each light receiving means and calculates the relative position of the remote control transmitter according to the triangulation principles or the like.
