METHOD FOR TRANSFERRING PROGRAM FROM OUTSIDE MEMORY TO BUILT-IN MEMORY AND MICROCOMPUTER USING THE TRANSFER METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high-speed and efficient data transfer from an outside memory. SOLUTION: The set data of a private register 13 including program data to be transferred and the wait information of the data are stored in an outside memory 20. In a microcomputer 10, a transfer program for transferring data from the outside memory 20 to a built-in ROM 12 is preliminarily stored in an built-in ROM 11. In the microcomputer 10, a CPU 14 performs access to the set data of the private register in the leading address of the outside memory 20 when releasing reset, and when receiving the set data including the wait information of the data to be transferred, the data are transferred through an address bus and a data bus to the built-in RAM 12 by the execution of the program of the built-in ROM 11. The area in the built-in RAM 12 of the transferred data is re-arranged in the boot area and the area including vector, table and the program data are executed by the CPU 14.
