PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of the case such that the discrimination of a master disk is impossible when a hard disk is exchanged. SOLUTION: By a disk device control means 1, the device number preliminarily imparted to a CPU is made to be the reference device information, and device numbers are held with both of a 1st disk device 4 and a 2nd disk device 5, then these device numbers held respectively with the 1st disk device 4 and the 2nd disk device 5 are collated with the reference device information so as to discriminate that either one of the 1st disk device 4 and 2nd disk device 5 is the master disk, based on the collation result.
