VOICE DATA REPEATING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control whether compression or expansion is performed or not so that voice data is not compressed or expanded repeatedly during the repeating of a voice call without depending upon a PBX. SOLUTION: Each ATM multiplexing device sends a transmission pattern out to an adjacent device through the PBX and only when the transmission pattern is received from the adjacent device through the PBX, its compressing/ expanding operation is stopped; and voice data are transparently repeated and in other cases, the voice data are repeated while compressing/expanding operation is carried out.
