PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image recorder where the constitution of an intermediate transfer part is made compact and simple and which is excellent in maintainability and does not cause color slurring. SOLUTION: This recorder is provided with an image forming unit group 14 constituted by collectively arranging plural individual units 13Y, 13M, 13C and 13BK in a nearly columnar state on an attachable/detachable condition and an intermediate transfer body unit 2 housing an intermediate transfer body 3. The stopping position of the unit group 14 includes image forming arrangement where one of the individual units 13Y, 13M, 13C and 13BK is arranged at an image forming position and which is used to form an image and retreat arrangement where no individual unit is positioned at the image forming position. The individual units 13Y, 13M, 13C and 13BK and the unit 2 are all constituted to be attachable/detachable in a vertical direction to the rotary shaft of the unit group 14 only when the unit group 14 exists at the retreat arrangement. |
