<p>The invention relates to a method for producing a modified thermoplastic polyester resin and to a method for producing a modified polyester resin foam. The invention especially refers to a PET material of high elasticity and viscosity that can be used to produce a foamed material of low density. The invention provides a method for producing a modified thermoplastic polyester resin, comprising the steps of feeding and melting a thermoplastic polyester resin, feeding a chain building additive, feeding an elasticity-promoting additive and mixing and kneading the thermoplastic polyester resin together with the chain building additive and the elasticity-promoting additive. Preferably, a granulated additive compound is used that contains the chain building additive and the elasticity-promoting additive.</p> |
