PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retaining piece 100 for inexpensively and surely obtaining improved operational performance of a noise characteristic, by improving a gate position or the like in injection molding the piece. SOLUTION: In the piece 100 being interposed between adjoining mating balls B, a gate part and a joining part being projected to join a pin are provided in the recessed surfaces 101 at the time of molding in both the ends in an axial line direction contacting the balls B to automatically separate a gate and the piece 100 in separating a die. A cavity is provided in the peripheral part of the joining part or the peripheral part of a parting line to house a burr or the like produced at the time of the molding in the cavity. Assembling the piece into the device can avoid a phenomenon wherein a harmfull burr contacts the balls B or an inside or outside guide member worsens operational performance or a noise characteristic.
