PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition having photocatalytic function, capable of reducing photocatalyst content thereof without markedly lowering its photocatalytic activity (hydrophilicizing ability), and excellent in durability of the coating film therefrom. SOLUTION: This coating composition comprises (a) at least one kind selected from the group consisting of organosilanes of the formula: (R1)nSi(OR2)4-n, wherein, R1 is a 1-8C univalent organic group; R2 is a 1-5C alkyl or 1-6C acyl group; and n is an integer of 0-2, hydrolyzates thereof and condensates thereof, (b) a polymer containing silyl group having a silicon atom bound to hydrolysable group and/or hydroxyl group, (c) colloidal silica and/or colloidal alumina, and (d) a photocatalyst.
