MOLD OPENING AND CLOSING MECHANISM FOR INDIVIDUAL SECTION OF I.S. MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die opening and closing mechanism for an I.S.(individual section) machine. SOLUTION: A die supporting mechanism is driven by transmission means (conversion means) having a lead screw 70 which is supported by a housing 90, a left side nut 72 and right side nut 74 which are workably associated and links 76 and 78 which connect the left side nut 72 and the right side nut 74 and the die supporting mechanism to each other. The housing 90 has a flat rear wall and the left side nut 72 and right side nut 74 have flat rear walls. The flat surface of the rear wall and bearing surface have the parted distances selected therebetween when the die supporting mechanism exists in a retraction position. The lead screw 70 has selected rigidity. When the die supporting mechanism is driven to an advance position and engages with another die supporting mechanisms, the lead screw 70 bends so as to allow the engagement of the supporting surface and the flat surface of the rear wall and has such rigidity that the die supporting mechanism is surely held in the advance position.
