PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting apparatus which prevents the generation of lump-like solidified stocks attributable to insufficient heating of the powder generated in the vicinity of a submerged nozzle in implementing the electromagnetic continuous casting using the mold powder as the lubricant, and stably and continuously manufacture a slab of excellent quality which is free from any surface cracks. SOLUTION: In the continuous casting apparatus to implement the electromagnetic casting by applying the high frequency field in a continuous casting mold, longitudinal slits are formed in a mold wall with predetermined spaces, an electromagnetic coil is disposed on the outer circumference of the mold, and the submerged nozzle for feeding the molten metal is formed of an electrically conductive material at least in the vicinity of a meniscus to implement the induction heating of the mold powder.
