PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydrogen storage alloy electrode excellent in service capacity, durability and initial activating characteristics. SOLUTION: This hydrogen storage alloy is shown by the general formula of (R2-wCw)(Ni7-x-y-zMnxAyBz)n and also has a mixed crystal structure of two or more kinds, where R is rare earth elements or misch metal; A is at least one or more kinds among Al, Cu, Co and Fe; B is at least one or more kinds among Cr, Zn, Nb, Mo, Ag, In, Sn, Sb, Si, P and S; and C is at least one or more kinds among Mg, Ca, Ti, V and Zr, and 0.3<=x<=2.0, 0<y<=2.0, 0<=z<=1.0, 0<w<=0.5 and 1.0<=n<=1.3 are satisfied. In the case the hydrogen storage alloy is used as an electrode, service capacity is large, and its durability to repeated charging and discharging is excellent. Moreover, activation is possible at an early stage, and its initial activating characteristics are also excellent. |
