PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating resin from a steel pipe in a state enabling use thereof for recycling, without necessitating equipment of a large scale, for the purpose of recycling a resin-lined steel pipe of which the inner and/or outer surface is lined with a resin pipe by an adhesive. SOLUTION: The resin-lined steel pipe of which the inner and/or outer surface is lined with the resin pipe by the adhesive is heated to a temperature at which the adhesive softens. Then, the resin pipe is separated from the steel pipe by a method wherein, with one end part of the resin pipe held by a fixture the fixture is passed through the inside and/or outside of the resin pipe toward the other end of the resin pipe and thereby the resin pipe is separated, while it is inverted, or a method wherein the resin pipe is pushed through, while it is pushed in, or the fixture is moved in the direction of withdrawing from the resin pipe, so as to pull out and/or tear off the resin pipe.
