PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air damper capable of preventing impulse noises during fully opening a closure. SOLUTION: The air damper comprises a cylinder 1, a piston 2 to be moved in the cylinder, a first coil spring 7A for springingly energizing the piston to one end of the cylinder in the cylinder, a string 8 for transmitting damping operation to the closure with the movement of the piston, and a guide cap 6 mounted in an opening at the other end of the cylinder for guiding the string. Outside the first coil spring, a second coil spring 7B is supported at one end, having a larger diameter and a smaller size than the first coil spring, at the side of the piston and an extension wall 6b is provided at the side of the guide cap, extending to one end of the cylinder. With the other end of the second coil spring thrust against the extension wall of the guide cap in the latter half of the movement range of the piston, the compression of the second coil spring is added to the compression of the first coil spring in the latter half of the movement range of the piston. |
