PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve cap for fire extinguisher to prevent an illegal reuse of it. SOLUTION: The valve cap is screwedly attached to a male screw 3 on a screw cap 2 of a fire extinguisher body 1. On the periphery surface 4a of the valve cap, vertically long convex portions 6 and concave portions 7 are provided alternately along the circumference. The corner 6a on the loosening side of the vertically long convex portion 6 is shaped as if it was cut off. Therefore, the vale cap 4 cannot be turned with a general tool hooked to the vertically long convex portion 6, thus preventing an fire extinguisher from being illegally checked and maintained for reuse.
