Heading C2C. 3,7,11 - Trimethyl - 7,11 - dichloro - 2 - dodecen - 1 - oic acid, stated to be novel, and its alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl and aralkyl esters are prepared by reaction of bamesylic acid with hydrogen chloride in an acetic acid medium, followed if desired by conversion to the acid chloride and reaction with an alcohol. The esters have insect juvenilization, ovicidal and chemosterilant activity. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,133,541. |
