The present invention relates to a method of cleaning fabrics in washing mac hines which have parts made of natural rubber using laundry detergents comprising N-acyl caprolactam bleaching activators and a source of hydrogen peroxide such that said natural rubbe r parts of said machines are substantially undamaged by free radical by-products of the perhydrolysis reaction between the activator and hyd rogen peroxide.
